Introduction

Welcome to my blog!

The icon photo you see is my youngest daughter being water baptized at the age of four. She told me that Jesus told her to get baptized, and I know that she was right- He did! Shortly after, her siblings expressed that they too were desiring to be water baptized. All of my children have given their lives to Jesus, been water baptized, enjoy reading their Bibles, talk to and listen to God each day, pray regularly, love to worship, enjoy church and most importantly, love Jesus deeply. I have four children, at the time of this posting ages 5, 8, 11, and 13.

I have been through a lot with these children, including several moves, two of which involved overseas or international visas.

I can not say that I know much about parenting, because honestly I don’t. But everywhere I go, complete strangers stop me and tell me how amazing and beautiful my kids are. We are not rich, we don’t wear designer clothes, (or even matching socks;) but we do have one thing that makes us stand out- and that’s a close personal relationship with Jesus.

I almost always respond to these kind comments about the children by saying that I can’t take credit, but that the light they are seeing comes from the inside- that my kids are believers in Jesus and that the beauty people see is not because of me, but because of Him.

My hope is that through reading some of the stories, moments, thoughts, ideas, struggles, defeats and victories I share, you will feel inspired to teach your little ones how to walk with Jesus from an early age.

I sometimes think that the only thing I have done right as a mom or even as a person is to teach these kids how to walk with God- and trust me, there’s some truth to that! But even if it were completely true, I am satisfied with that. I won’t be there for them like I am now when they are grown- but God will. I can’t solve their problems-but God can. I can’t never fail them- But God can. I can’t give them a trauma free childhood- But God can redeem all things. I can’t promise them much of anything- But the promises God makes them will hold true.

I’ll share more about my own upbringing, more about my journey as a mom, more about my walk with God and more about my family life, and more about how God helps me teach my kids…

But as a starting point I encourage you to pray about this- if you are a parent or primary caregiver- determine today that the most important thing you can do with your life is to raise for children to know God, to know His love, to love Him back, and to walk closely with Him every day. Sunday school is not enough. Christian school is not enough. Christian media is not enough. They need you. I pray a blessing over you as you journey with me, that your children may come to know Him.
